Yesterday, the first ever Kindergarten Kickstart "Family Friday" was a huge success! We invited all of our families to join us for breakfast (coffee and muffins, scones, etc. home-baked by Mr. Andy) and circle time. Miraculously, our 30-person circle time went smoothly - we managed to get through our good morning songs, calendar, weather watchers, job charts, several books, AND some yoga! The kids were very excited and enjoyed having visitors for our morning activities. I actually think that circle time was even better than usual with the combined classes - when 20 kids are being cooperative, the two or three who are wiggling around and making noise are less distracting.

Each child received 5 tokens to spend on fruits and vegetables a the farmers' market. |
After circle time, we all walked together to the Middletown Farmers' Market on Main Street. The CRT provides $5 of tokens to children so they can purchase fruits and vegetables of their choice, so we all went home with bags of peaches, blueberries, garlic, raspberries, and more from local farms.
Next week's theme is Music, Movement, and Dance, and we'll be visiting KidCity on Washington Street and going to the Farmers' Market again.

Bryson, Jeremy's little brother, decided he wants to join our class. |

We had so much fun sharing our classroom for the week! |
